The Movement is this weekend and I am pumped. Even if you haven’t signed up you can still come. Simply let me know you’ll be there and show up on time. (If you don’t let me know, we might leave you accidently!) We will be leaving at 5:30 Friday afternoon, so be here by 5:15!! You’ll need your Bible, pen and notebook if you’d like, a sleeping bag and pillow, one change of clothes, basic toiletries and a towel (if you want to shower Saturday), and money for dinner on the way over. It’s that simple!

I hope everyone is enjoying the day off. As it is a school holiday, our Disciple class is not meeting this morning and I can therefore get out the weekly update in the morning. We had a fun time last night at Rendezvous with numerous games for the semester long competition, The Youth Games. The upperclassmen are pulling away with just over double the middle schoolers’ score (who are in second place, need to step it up underclassmen!). There are a lot of announcements so I will stop rambling and get to it.

Ash Wednesday: This Wednesday there will be no Bible Studies as it is Ash Wednesday. We are going to the 6:15 service in the Chapel. You can still come early at 5:45 and hangout with us in the Attic for a while, then we will all walk down.

The Movement! It is this weekend! If you haven’t signed up thats ok. Just let me know you are coming and bring you $38 in cash on Friday. We will be staying at Mt. Pisgah instead of my parents house so we have more time for fun with the other youth groups! Ask any question. High school students, you really should come.

Steak-n-Shake-n-Bowling: In 2 Sundays, on March 4th, we will be going to lunch and then bowling right after church. Bring $12 to bowl and however much you need to eat. Sign up on the clipboard outside my office. Small groups will meet when we get back and I will let you know what each group is doing that day.

Braves Game: April 29th, we will be heading downtown to see the Braves take on the Pirates! Cost is $15 and we NEED 20 people to go. Please sign up for this on the other clipboard outside my office. Leaving right after church with small groups when we return also.

Spring Retreat: March 23-25 at Camp Glisson, grades 7th-12th are invited for a great spiritual getaway with your youth group. It’ll be a fantastic retreat. Cost is $130 and registration is due next Monday. Forms are on the website.

Benefit Concert: Mark your calenders for the night of March 10th. We are going to head to a local benefit concert to help raise money for an organization that helps sex trafficking/human slavery victims in Atlanta. Recording artist Echoing Angels will be performing with a local band. More info to come.

As usual, I’ll be at Starbucks tomorrow from 3:30-5:30 if you want to stop by and chat, and Rendezvous will be happening at 5:30 on Sunday. This week we will be in the Sanctuary for worship with the Student Band and small groups to follow!

A very busy day here so this will be short and lack detail, but let me know if you have a question about anything.

We had a fantastic night at Rendezvous last night as we focused on Prayer and spent some time with God in several different ways. If you made it, I hope you were able to feel God as you talked with Him, and if you didn’t make it, we will try and do it again sometime in coming months.

Spring Retreat! Camp Glisson March 23-25, $130, sign up by the end of February! (all students 7th-12th grade)

Plans for the Culebra Mission Trip and other summer events continue to move a long well and I hope to get more news out soon.

I strongly encourage all high school students to come, it really is going to be a great event. As you see, we are no longer staying at my parents house but at the church with the other groups. This gives us a chance to spend more time together and less time traveling, and gives us some more great activities.

If you have any questions about it please ask! I would hate for anyone to miss out on this event. The registration sheet is on the website and the cost is $38. Please bring me your form and money ASAP, or atleast send me a commitment email with your shirt size.
