Monday Afternoon Moment – May 7

Welcome to May!

In my opinion, this is the best month of the year. It is usually warm but not hot yet (we’ll see this year), school ends and summer starts, baseball season is in full swing (get it? swing?), we celebrate Mothers everywhere, and my birthday happens! But the extra bonus since I started here at AUMC is Youth Sunday is in May! All three services went great yesterday as our students ran the show. I have heard so many good things from members of the congregation, and I am so proud of how amazing a job our students did with everything. And a special shout out to the Seniors for doing a great job with Rendezvous last night! Wish I could have been there, but Jaquie and I had a wedding to attend for my old roommate. Weddings on Sundays are cheaper for the families, but make youth ministers miss Youth time . It was a great day all around though!

Announcements

Bible Study/Rendezvous: this Wednesday will once again be Barefoot Bible Study. Wear/bring a pair of shoes to donate to Soles 4 Souls! Sunday night Rendezvous will be all Small Groups, a separate announcement will be made this week of what all the groups are doing. And Bible Study next week (May 16th), both HS and MS will be going to the Hall’s home for a cookout! Meet by the bus at 5:45, we’ll be back around 7:30.

Summer events are all on the calendar on the website! We have a great summer planned, and a separate email will be sent this week with a calendar and registration form for all events (and explanations of summer programming). This also means it is time for updating the medical release forms, which will be included with said email.

Culebra: the team will be getting info very soon on fundraising/support and first payments. I apologize the logistics/planning of this trip continue to take a while. It has been quite chaotic, but keep praying for the trip as God will work it all out! There are still spots available if you are interested (definitely need a female adult, could use another male adult, 4 or so students spots available).

Best of luck on AP tests, EOCTs, finals and any other of the crazy end of the year school things ya’ll have to do!
